Electric Cooperatives of Arkansas

Special Rate Promotion


A legislative pole attachment issue threatened to have costly implications for cooperatives in Arkansas.

Through a coordinated statewide effort, an urgent appeal was shared with more than 100,000 members asking for them to contact their legislators.

The legislation was defeated.

Orange County REMC in Indiana targeted members by substation for their energy management program. By concentrating their effort geographically and contacting only members with appliances that qualified for their program, Orange County maximized their effort. Results from the promotion were also tracked to gauge success. They experienced more than double typical response rates and have enrolled more than 250 members.
