We’re Powered by YOU

Most people know us as their local electric provider, but Oak Hill Electric is much more than that — we’re a not-for-profit, member-owned cooperative.

Unlike investor-owned utilities that send profits to shareholders, we exist solely to serve our members. Oak Hill Electric was founded when neighbors came together to bring electricity to rural areas that for-profit companies had left in the dark. That same spirit of cooperation still drives us today.

7 Cooperative Principles

As a co-op, we operate under seven guiding principles that ensure our members’ needs come first:

Everyone in our service area is welcome.

At Oak Hill Electric, you’re not just a customer — you’re an owner, a neighbor, and a vital part of our story.
