With new energy efficiency regulations in place, Corn Belt Power Cooperative needed to leverage technology to coordinate efforts across member systems and to minimize manual rebate data entry. The solution came in the form of a customized online rebate system where participating cooperatives could enter monthly rebate and audit data in a simple web-based form. The result is simplified reporting at the Corn Belt level while still allowing member cooperatives access to their own data and reports. Forms were consistent when possible, but Corn Belt also offered the option to customize by co-op when needed.

Weathering the Storm

Many members want to know how to be part of the solution for their cooperatives so keeping them informed is key. Inside Information works with cooperatives individually to communicate messages to members when their participation makes a difference. Examples of communication efforts include notifying members electronically during peak usage situations, informing members about outage status, and following up for more feedback after the storm.

When Ozarks Electric in Fayetteville, AR wants to get information out to members, they usually rely on email as part of the mix, and call on Inside Information to take care of the details. Such was the case with a recent promotion of energy efficiency services which yielded 357 sign ups from members in just one email – 71% of the total enrollment. "Behold the power of email – more specifically 'our email list," said Keith Kaderly, Manager of Energy Services.
